Chefs See Stars as Michelin Guide/2010 Awards Top Toques Six Stars; Zagat, OpenTable & Esquire Turn Up The Heat

YOUNTVILLE, Calif. — With SIX Michelin stars and 15 top eateries a fork’s throw apart, foodies on a fast track now have another reason to visit Yountville — Napa Valley’s “culinary” crushpad. Michelin Guide recently announced that the town’s top toques earned a coveted six stars, the largest concentration per city block short of New York City and more Michelin stars per capita than anywhere on the planet!
Recipients include The French Laundry (3), Bouchon (1), Redd (1) and newly-crowned etoile at Domaine Chandon (1). Add to the line-up the new Bottega from Food Network’s Michael Chiarello (www.botteganapavalley.com), restaurant at Bardessono (www.bardessono.com), Cantinetta Piero at Hotel Luca (Nov./’09) (www.hotellucanapa.com) and Thomas Keller/Laura Cunningham’s Vita (tbd) and a progressive chow down just outpaced the region’s legendary pastime.
“This new recognition really puts a spin on Yountville as a culinary destination. The love of food and wine is legendary here, we’re thrilled to offer such a perfect pairing of the two in a walkable environment,” says Mayor Cindy Saucerman.
