The head of General Motorsâ Buick-GMC brands will oversee the automakerâs U.S. sales, the company announced this evening.
Susan Docherty, 46, will succeed Mark LaNeve as vice president of U.S. sales. She will become a part of GMâs executive committee.
LaNeve announced earlier today that he is leaving GM for a non-automotive industry job.
âSusan will bring a wealth of experience from previous marketing and sales assignments,â GM CEO Fritz Henderson said in a statement. âI have confidence that she will bring a new perspective to the position as she guides a new, lean, and customer-focused dealer network.â
She became the head of GMâs Buick-Pontiac-GMC channel in June 2008. Sheâs held a slew of positions within the company, including general manager of the Hummer Division. â Freep
