Ethiopia export rise over 3 per cent on gold, khat

September 28 (WIC) – Ethiopian exports rose 3.2 percent last month on gold and khat, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said.
According to Bloomberg, exports were 133.4 million USD in the 30 days ending September 5, up from 129.3 million USD during the same period last year.
Exports of khat climbed 19 percent to 16.6 million USD.
Gold exports, mainly from the Midroc Legadembi Gold Mine owned by Saudi billionaire Sheikh Mohammed Al Amoudi, rose to 19.3 million USD from 239,000 USD.
