Ethiopia – Addis Ababa University reforms
By Addis Mulugeta
Addis Ababa University (AAU), Ethiopia’s oldest university, said on Thursday, September 17 that it has finalised its Business Process Reengineering (BPR) preparations and has started to implement it at all levels.
BPR focuses on complete structural change and reform within large organisations in the public and private sectors in an attempt to provide more effective services and contribute to development.
Professor Andreas Eshete, President of AAU, confirmed during a press conference at Senate Hall of AAU that this is the culmination of three years of planning and preparation, starting with the development of the five-year strategic plan, which highlighted the need for fundamental structural change across the university and lay out a wide ranging set of goals and objectives.
