Funeral services for Tilahun Gesesse held in Ethiopia

Tilahun Gesesse has been the most dominant figure in Ethiopian music for more than half a century and today a “State” Funeral service for legendary singer Tilahun will take place.

Since his death on Sunday Ethiopia has been mourning for their beloved artist. The State funeral will allow the public to give there respects as his casket is carried through Meskel square in Addis Ababa on a carriage from 11am untill 2:00pm.

His obituary is said to be read out followed by messages sent from Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and President Girma Woldegiorgis.

The funeral will take place at Holy Trinity Cathedral Church in Addis Ababa between 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm. .

  if there is one great artist who deserves the state funeral that would be Dr Tilahun Gesese. he was the greatest artist ever and i doubt if we will evere see an artist as talented as Tilahun was. tilahun has left a big place in our heart that no body will take. and he will be missed forever. love tilahun
